The GE Security 1078C Series Steel Door contacts are designed specifically for use in the steel doors commonly found in commercial building applications. The unique housing design features a rugged unibody construction with flexible ribbed sides.

The GE Security 2300 Series Panel Door magnetic contacts are designed specifically for panel or sectional style overhead doors. The unique design allows the contact to be mounted directly to the door channel, with the magnet mounted vertically on the door.

 

These dual technology devices are designed to detect an intruder entering by breaking glass in a window or door. They mount on your wall or ceiling. The glass must meet minimum size standards, in order for these devices to work. Your installer will have a tester to assure coverage. These devices see approximately a twenty-five foot line of sight. They are not designed to go around doorways. They are generally used in conjunction with contact protection so there is no way for the burglar to enter into your home before being detected.

When using glass breaks sensors and contacts, the burglar cannot step foot into the house without being detected. With motions sensors, they are not detected until they enter into your home and cross the pattern.  You must shut off your motion sensors when walking freely about your house. Glass sensors can be used while you are home.
